How far is Nusa Penida from Sanur?

About 45 minutes by speedboat from Sanur harbour. That short crossing is why we run all our Nusa Penida day trips — Manta Point, Crystal Bay, and the day dive — from here.

Can I do a refresher in Sanur?

Absolutely. If it has been more than 12 months since your last dive, we recommend a short refresher in Sanur's calm water before heading to busier sites like Nusa Penida or Tulamben.

What diving is there in Sanur itself?

Sanur’s own reefs are shallow and forgiving: the Channel for easy reef dives and refreshers, and the Jetty for gentle macro and relaxed night dives. They are the ideal place to take a first breath underwater or shake off the rust before a bigger trip.

Where can you go from Sanur?

Almost everywhere. The harbour puts Nusa Penida just 45 minutes away by speedboat, and the east-Bali sites of Tulamben and Amed are an easy drive. Start calm in Sanur, then chase mantas, wrecks, and walls from the same base.
